Pumpkin Patch 2013

Whoa, it's been a long time and so much has happened!

We decided we couldn't take Jake's long commute any longer and put our house up for sale.  That meant getting our house the cleanest it had ever been, packing up family pictures and baby stuff, staging the house, and then getting the kids and dog out of there for an open house!  I drove us down to San Diego to stay with my mom while we had the open house.  We got 2 offers, one of which was a great deal and we accepted!  The catch?  We closed in 8 days!  So we packed like crazy people and went on the mad hunt for a rental near Jake's work.  We found a great little place in Sunnyvale that was only a ten minute commute for Jake!  It was such a chaotic time, but I'm so glad we rushed it all - now we have almost 2 extra hours with Jake.  The garage is still packed with boxes to be unpacked, baby stuff to give away, and lots of garage sale items... but I am so happy we are here and life is good.

Such an exciting time for the Hiltons.  I can't believe how big my babies are getting.

Holly at 10 months:
- can stand up without holding onto anything
- pushes walkers and Parker's cars around the backyard
- is a very fast crawler
- will take one step and then lunge towards me... will be walking any day now...
- doesn't like baby food as much as finger foods - usually only wants what Parker has
- favorite food might be blueberries
- likes almost everything we try to feed her - especially gnawing on bagels and pizza crust
- has 6 teeth! (but has for quite a few months; still waiting for more to come in)
- babbles mama, dada, baba
- looks at Jake and Parker when I say their names

Parker lately:
- has recently started telling me to "calm down" if I get stern with him... hmm....
- can count from 1 to 14!
- is halfway through his ABCs... he always ends with "...H, I, J, Mango-I-P"

Random Pics (totally out of order)

San Diego 2013

Since moving to Northern California in (gasp) 2008, I've made an annual summer trip to San Diego.  This year was Holly's first long car ride and she did great.  The drive took an extra three hours because of all the stops we had to make for her, but it was nice to get out and let Parker stretch.  Once we were there we had lots of fun activities to choose from, but also lots of time to relax as a family.  Of course, most of the things on my to-do list were food related.  Last summer we took Parker to Sea World and had a great time, but we decided to go big and take the kids to Disneyland!  My mom was able to get the day off work and she came with us.  It was so nice to have an extra pair of hands while there.  Thanks mom!  We are so glad you could come with us!  We also spent lots of time in my parents pool, playing in their backyard, and taking family walks.  It was a fabulous trip to San Diego and I'm already looking forward to next year's trip when Holly will be walking and talking!

Here are some photos from our trip...

We took lots of trips to our favorite place, Pizza Port.

We went down to Seaport Village to look at the boats.

We went to Poway to ride the old steam train!

We visited La Valencia (where our wedding reception was 4 years ago)!

We went to Disneyland!!
Parker's favorite ride was the cars.  He even loved the "traffic jam" will waiting to get off the ride.
Our friends, the Kloors, were also at Disneyland that day so we met up with them for a few rides.  Here's Parker and Beau waiting to ride Dumbo.
Parker walked the whole time we were at Disneyland until around 3.  He wanted to get in the stroller to walk to Main Street to pick out a toy.  He crashed on our walk to the toy store and there was no waking him!  We shouted, offered him candy, and even walked around a few toy/souvenir shops to see if he'd wake up, but no luck.  So we took some pictures, of course!

We got one last family pic before we drove home.
He even slept as we got him out of the stroller to put him on the tram to the parking lot.  Then slept through us packing up the car and putting him in his car seat... and the hour drive to San Diego.  Maybe one of the longest naps he's ever taken.  Hmm... too bad I didn't live near Disneyland.

Swimming in the pool was a daily occurrence.  He wasn't sure of his "puddle jumper" floaty thing at first, but by the end he was swimming around the pool all by himself.

We even hiked at Torrey Pines.

One of the last days, we met our friends at the beach.
The three girls: Stella, Grace, and Holly
 All the kids!

Now they're giving kisses all around...

Such a fun trip to San Diego this year.  I can't wait until next summer to do it all over again.
